This Tuesday’s Mayor and Commission meeting has several transit issues relevant to our goal of providing safe, equitable, and accessible transit infrastructure in ACC. We encourage you to email the Mayor and Commission or come speak at the meeting about the two items described below.

1) Agenda Item 07: “Voluntary Sidewalk Assessments”
We need more comprehensive and equitable tools than what is offered by this policy.
Commissioner Girtz will be offering a “commission-defined option” that will adopt this policy, but require that ACC continue to develop other policies and programs that address ordinance issues and funding mechanisms to enhance neighborhood sidewalks throughout the county.
We urge you to support Commissioner Girtz’s CDO.
2) Agenda Item 08: “Crosswalk and Traffic Calming Improvements”
This agenda item calls for postponement of all planned Prince Avenue improvements.
ACC should proceed with signal upgrades (RRFB’s) on Prince Avenue at Pope St. and Grady Ave. crosswalks, as these will not be affected by plans for the development of the St Joseph’s property.
